Harbor Boulevard links the beach hotels, the fairgrounds and Ventura Harbor without getting back on the 101, so a beach-to-harbor dinner hop on an hourly booking stays short.
During the Ventura County Fair in early August, the streets around Seaside Park and the beachfront fill up, so allow extra time that week for drop-offs at the beach hotels.
Ventura Harbor Village on Spinnaker Drive has waterfront restaurants and sits beside the island boat departures, so it’s the drop-off for both harbor dinners and Channel Islands trips.
Founded in 1782, the mission on East Main Street anchors downtown, and drop-off is right at the church for Mass, a wedding or a visit.
The Promenade runs along the beach from the Ventura Pier toward Surfers Point with hotels facing the sand, so it’s where most drop-offs for a beach stay end up.
The islands are reached only by boat or small plane, so a ride for an island trip ends at Ventura Harbor, where the park visitor center and the boat departures are.
