Sample routes for 3, 4 and 6 hours

Starting from a hotel in Hollywood, West Hollywood or Beverly Hills. Swap any stop for one of your own.

    3 hours: Hollywood

The Walk of Fame and the TCL Chinese Theatre, the Hollywood Sign from Lake Hollywood Park, then Griffith Observatory for the view over the basin. Finish with a drive down the Sunset Strip.

4 hours: Hollywood and Beverly Hills

The Hollywood loop, then Rodeo Drive, the Beverly Hills sign on Santa Monica Boulevard and a slow drive through the residential streets of Beverly Hills and Bel Air.

6 hours: Hollywood to the ocean

Hollywood and Beverly Hills first, then west to the Santa Monica Pier, the Venice boardwalk and the canals a few blocks inland, ending at the beach late in the day.

    Stops worth planning around

    Hollywood Sign views

Lake Hollywood Park and the Griffith Observatory lawn give the clearest photos. The streets right below the sign are residential with tight parking rules, so the chauffeur drops you at a viewpoint instead.

    Griffith Observatory

Free to enter and closed on Mondays. The hilltop lot fills at sunset and on weekends; the chauffeur gets you as close as traffic control allows and waits nearby.

    Rodeo Drive

Three blocks of flagship stores between Wilshire and Santa Monica boulevards. The chauffeur drops you at the corner and waits nearby, so shopping bags go straight into the car.

    Santa Monica Pier

The Ferris wheel, the end of Route 66 and the beach below. On summer weekends Ocean Avenue backs up, so plan a drop-off near Colorado Avenue rather than the pier lots.

    Downtown LA

Walt Disney Concert Hall, The Broad, Grand Central Market and Union Station are within about a mile of each other, so Downtown works as a two-hour add-on.

    Venice and Abbot Kinney

The boardwalk, Muscle Beach and the quiet canals a few blocks inland, with Abbot Kinney Boulevard a short hop away for lunch.

What a private car tour is, and isn’t

You book a car and a chauffeur by the hour, not a guided tour. The chauffeur drives, plans the order of stops around traffic and waits while you look around, but doesn’t give commentary like a tour guide. If you want the stories behind the places, an audio-guide app or a podcast works well over the car’s Wi-Fi.

Because the car is yours for the booking, the plan can shift on the day: stay longer at the observatory, skip a stop or add lunch in Los Feliz, as long as it fits the hours you booked. The price is set by those hours and shown before you pay, with no surge.

Pickup can be any hotel, home, rental or the cruise terminal in Los Angeles and Orange County, so you can start from a Disneyland hotel in Anaheim or from San Pedro after a cruise. Drop-off can be anywhere, including LAX for an evening flight, with your bags riding in the car all day.

    Tips for a sightseeing day

    • Do the Walk of Fame before 11 AM, before the crowds on Hollywood Boulevard peak.
    • Weekday traffic peaks from 7 to 10 AM and 3 to 7 PM; the chauffeur orders the stops to cross town outside those hours.
    • Red-carpet premieres sometimes close part of Hollywood Boulevard near the TCL Chinese Theatre; the chauffeur reroutes to a side street.
    • Griffith Observatory is closed on Mondays, so plan Hollywood views another way that day.
    • Visiting the Getty Center? The car drops you at the tram at the bottom of the hill, so you skip the paid parking.
    • For a Malibu sunset, add two hours to a Santa Monica route; PCH is slow on summer weekends.
    • Wear walking shoes: most stops are a 5 to 20 minute walk from where a car can stop.
    • Bottled water, phone chargers and Wi-Fi are in the car between stops.

Still unsure? Message us on WhatsApp or call +1 (310) 861-7924.

Does the chauffeur act as a tour guide?

No. You get a private car and a chauffeur who drives, handles parking and traffic, and waits at each stop, but there is no guided commentary. If you want background on the places, an audio-guide app or a podcast works well over the car’s Wi-Fi. The upside is that the schedule and the stops are entirely yours.

How many hours do we need to see the main Los Angeles sights?

Three hours covers Hollywood and Griffith Observatory, and four adds Beverly Hills and Rodeo Drive. To reach Santa Monica and Venice as well, book six. Eight hours or more lets you add Downtown or Malibu without rushing.

Can our sightseeing tour start from a hotel in Anaheim?

Yes. Pickups work anywhere in Los Angeles and Orange County, including the Disneyland area. Allow 45 minutes to an hour each way between Anaheim and Hollywood or Beverly Hills, more at rush hour, and count that in your hours. A 6-hour booking from Anaheim covers Hollywood and Beverly Hills.

Can a city tour start at the cruise port or end at LAX?

Yes. Pickup can be at the World Cruise Center in San Pedro, and drop-off can be anywhere, including LAX for an evening flight. Put the number of bags in the notes for your chauffeur: a Business SUV carries about six, a Business Class sedan about three. Plan the last stop so you reach LAX two to three hours before your flight.

Can we drive past celebrity homes?

The chauffeur can route you through Beverly Hills, Bel Air, the Hollywood Hills and the Bird Streets, neighborhoods where many well-known people live, but doesn’t point out specific homes. Most houses sit behind gates and hedges, so the drive is more about the neighborhoods than the houses.

Which car works best for sightseeing in Los Angeles?

A Business SUV sits higher, has big windows and seats up to six, which helps with the views on Mulholland Drive and along PCH. First Class adds a more comfortable cabin for up to six, and couples can save with Business Class, up to three people. Groups of 7 to 12 ride together in a Sprinter van, which has a 3-hour minimum.

Can we change the plan during the tour?

Yes. The car is booked by the hour, so you can stay longer somewhere, skip a stop or add lunch, as long as it fits the hours you booked. Give the chauffeur your must-see list at pickup and they will plan the order around traffic. If you think you will want more time, book the longer package up front.

Is a private driver better than a bus tour in LA?

It depends on what you want. A bus tour gives commentary on a fixed route; a private car gives you your own group, your own stops and a chauffeur waiting at each one. If time is short, a private car usually fits more into the same hours, because there are no other passengers to wait for.
