The drive from Los Angeles to Las Vegas
From Downtown Los Angeles the usual route is the I-10 east to Ontario, then the I-15 north over the Cajon Pass into the high desert. Victorville comes up about 90 minutes out, Barstow at roughly the two-hour mark, and Baker about an hour after that, the last real town before the Nevada line at Primm. From Primm it is about 40 miles to the Strip.
Other pickups join the I-15 in different places. From Pasadena and the San Gabriel Valley, the 210 runs east to it. From Irvine, Anaheim and the rest of Orange County, the 91 through Corona reaches it without touching central LA. From Santa Monica, Malibu or the Westside, add 30 to 45 minutes to cross the city first.
The car has Wi-Fi on the cell network, so calls and email work for most of the way; the weak patch is the empty desert between Barstow and Primm. Download films or large files before you leave. Bottled water and phone chargers are in the car for the whole ride.
When to leave
The same 270 miles can take four hours or six, depending on the day and the hour you set off.
Skip Friday afternoon
Eastbound traffic out of LA builds from late morning on Fridays and before holiday weekends, and the drive can run to six hours. Leaving before 9 AM or after 8 PM keeps it close to four.
Midweek is easiest
Tuesday through Thursday, a mid-morning pickup usually reaches the Strip in about four hours, in time for a mid-afternoon hotel check-in.
Night departures
A 9 PM pickup puts you on the Strip around 1 AM on clear freeways. It suits groups who want to sleep on the way or have a late table booked.
Summer heat
From June to September, Barstow and Baker are often past 100°F by midday. The car is climate-controlled, and an early start gets most of the desert behind you before the hottest hours.
Big event weekends
New Year’s Eve, major fights, CES in January and the Formula 1 weekend in November all load the I-15, and some close sections of the Strip to cars. Allow an extra hour and give the exact hotel entrance.
Winter on the Cajon Pass
Snow, high winds or a crash on the grade occasionally slow or close the I-15 through the pass. Check conditions the night before on stormy days; cancellation is free up to 24 hours before pickup.
Getting back to Los Angeles
Every ride starts in Los Angeles or Orange County, so there is no separate pickup in Las Vegas. Plan the return one of these ways.
Fly home from Harry Reid
Flights from LAS to LAX, Burbank, Long Beach and John Wayne take about an hour. Book a chauffeur to meet you at the LA airport, and the trip still ends at your door.
Same-day round trip by the hour
Book an hourly ride from your LA or OC address. The chauffeur stays with you in Las Vegas and drives you back that night; a 12-hour booking leaves three to four hours in town.
Trade shows and conferences
For CES or a convention, the team rides out together one way and flies home when the show ends. The ride can go on a corporate account with monthly invoicing.
Before you book
Small details that make a four-hour ride go smoothly.
- Name the hotel and the tower: resorts such as Caesars Palace, the Venetian and MGM Grand have several entrances.
- Count the bags. A Business Class sedan takes about 3 suitcases, a Business SUV about 6.
- Golf bags and oversized cases need an SUV; list them in the notes for your chauffeur.
- Want a lunch stop in Barstow or Baker? Book by the hour and add it as a stop.
- Book at least 2 hours ahead; for holiday and event weekends, book as soon as you know the date.
- The full fare is charged when you book, and cancellation is free 24 hours or more before pickup.
- Champagne can be arranged on request for guests 21 and older.
- Your chauffeur is outside 15 minutes before the pickup time, so you leave on schedule.

Las Vegas trips questions
Still unsure? Message us on WhatsApp or call (213) 376-1699.
How long does the ride from Los Angeles to Las Vegas take?
About four hours from Downtown LA in normal traffic, and closer to four and a half from Santa Monica, Malibu or the Westside. Irvine and Anaheim come in a little under four hours because the 91 avoids central Los Angeles. A Friday afternoon or holiday departure can add one to two hours.
Can you pick us up in Las Vegas for the drive home?
Not as a separate ride, because every booking has to start in Los Angeles or Orange County. If you want the same car both ways in one day, book by the hour from your LA or OC address and the chauffeur waits in Las Vegas and drives you back. For longer stays, the simplest plan is to fly home from Harry Reid International and book a chauffeur at LAX, Burbank, Long Beach or John Wayne.
How does a same-day Las Vegas round trip work?
Book an hourly ride with your home, office or hotel as the pickup; hourly bookings run up to 12 hours. About eight of those hours are the drive there and back, which leaves three to four hours in Las Vegas for a meeting, a matinee or a long lunch. The chauffeur stays with you, so you leave whenever you are ready within your booked hours.
Which vehicle suits a group of 7 to 12 heading to Vegas?
The Sprinter van, which seats up to 12 and is booked by the hour with a 3-hour minimum; book enough hours to cover the drive. For six or fewer, a Business SUV or First Class gives everyone a proper seat, with room for about six suitcases. Champagne can be arranged on request for guests 21 and older.
Where will the chauffeur drop us off in Las Vegas?
At whatever address you give: a Strip hotel’s main entrance, a resort tower, a rental home in Henderson or Summerlin, the Las Vegas Convention Center or Harry Reid International Airport. Large resorts have several entrances and towers, so name the tower or put it in the notes for your chauffeur. Drop-off can be anywhere, not only on the Strip.
Can we add a lunch or outlet stop on the way to Vegas?
A one-way fare covers the direct drive from your door to your Las Vegas address. For planned stops, such as the Barstow outlets or lunch in Baker, book by the hour and add them as stops; the chauffeur waits at each one. Barstow sits about halfway, which makes it the natural place for a longer break.
Does heavy traffic on the I-15 change the price?
No. The one-way price is fixed when you book, with no surge pricing, so a slow Friday on the Cajon Pass doesn’t change what you pay. Hourly bookings are priced by the hours you choose. If weather or a closure forces you to move the date, cancellation is free up to 24 hours before pickup.
Is it better to drive or fly from LA to Las Vegas?
The flight takes about an hour, but getting to LAX early, security, and waiting for bags and a taxi at Harry Reid often add up to three hours or more door to door. The car takes about four hours with no airport time, your bags beside you and one vehicle for the whole group. A common plan is to drive out and fly home, which also solves the return.
